Around 8 a.m., first responders recovered the body from the water. The scene was cleared by approximately 9:15 a.m.

What they're saying:
Neighbors who frequent the area, known for its walking trails and quiet surroundings, were shocked by the discovery.
"I think it’s pretty shocking for over here," one passerby said. "Normally, people are walking their dogs, running, and jogging — it’s really safe around here. It’s just shocking that something like that would happen."
"It's just shocking really that something like that would happen," said Stephen Redd, who lives nearby. "It’s very peaceful. There’s just a lot of families walking—children, strollers, dogs, some runners, a few bikes every so often."
Neighbor Lianne White expressed similar disbelief. "I think it's pretty shocking for over here because normally it's people walking their dogs and running and jogging, and it's really safe around here," she said.
White noted that recent rain may have played a role. "With the rain, that water gets pretty rapid. It's like a rapid going down," she said.
Redd added he’s eager for more answers. "There's no information about what the cause was or who the person is, and those are the kinds of things I was wondering about."
What we don't know:
